Current Program and Tickets at Cine Chiemgau Traunstein

For program planning, the digital entry point is the fastest way: under Program/Tickets, the complete program with film titles, showtimes, and formats is available. This allows for comparisons between 2D and 3D screenings and selections based on time, day of the week, or film preference. Particularly convenient for families and groups: the clear structure of the program page allows for quick booking of multiple tickets for the same screening. The combination of three halls and modern projection technology ensures that different genres can run simultaneously – from family films and German comedies to international blockbusters or arthouse titles. The process is designed for clarity: first, choose a film or day, then secure the desired screening and seats in the corresponding hall. By indicating the hall, guests can see the size and acoustics of the hall where their film will be shown. Those wishing to remain flexible benefit from multiple screenings throughout the day, especially on weekends and during holiday periods; on weekdays, early and late screenings are often available. For sneak previews or special events, the in-house archive serves as a guide to which surprise films have been shown in the past. This keeps the venue close to the nationwide cinema landscape while also offering regional reliability: current release dates, common dubbed versions, and family-friendly afternoon times. Tip for frequent viewers: On cinema days (Mondays and Tuesdays), reduced admission prices apply – ideal for discovering new films at a lower cost. Price details are transparently published on the cinema's website, separated by days, times, and 2D/3D. Those who value seating comfort should consider the hall when making a selection: in the large hall, 14 luxury seats are available, whose comfort is especially noticeable during longer films. This creates a mix of spontaneous choice and conscious cinema enjoyment. Since screenings can occasionally sell out, it is advisable to reserve or book online early, especially during film premieres and on weekends. This minimizes waiting times at the box office and secures desired seats, allowing guests to relax and simply grab snacks before enjoying the film.

Seating, Halls, and Technology: Overview of the Hall Plan

The Cine Chiemgau Traunstein offers three cinema halls with a total of 310 seats and a technical setup that impresses both acoustically and visually. Hall 1 is the largest room with 172 seats and features 14 luxury seats as a special comfort feature – ideal for long-awaited blockbusters or epic film series. Halls 2 and 3 are intentionally more compact, each with 69 seats; both have comfortable seats equipped with small tables, making snacks and drinks particularly convenient. In all three halls, Dolby 7.1 provides a spatial sound experience where dialogues remain clearly understandable and effects are differentiated throughout the space. The 3D projection allows for real depth perception with appropriate glasses; those who prefer 3D can specifically filter for corresponding screenings when choosing the program. The architecture and seating arrangement are designed for good visibility: rising rows ensure that even in the back rows, there is an unobstructed view of the screen. After the reopening, the hall concepts were also adjusted for more legroom and comfort; fewer seats per hall mean more space and a more pleasant seating experience. The practical benefits are evident in everyday life: in smaller halls, films feel more intimate; in the large hall, spectacular effects unleash their full spatial sound. Those sensitive to volume can choose seats further back or off to the side for action titles; those seeking maximum presence should sit in the middle of the middle rows, where the sound mix is particularly balanced. For families with children, the compact Halls 2 and 3 offer a focused, quiet atmosphere; the tables facilitate handling popcorn, nachos, and drinks. Technically, the venue keeps pace with common industry standards: digital projection, 3D in the designated screenings, and multi-channel sound are part of the everyday experience. The hall pages of the website provide details for each hall, including the number of seats and equipment; this makes it easier to choose a personal favorite hall. In this way, the cinema visit can be specifically planned during booking – considering seating comfort, hall size, and technology that fits the chosen genre.

From Casablanca to Cine Chiemgau: History and New Beginning

The cinema history of Traunstein in Haslacher Feld tells of change: the venue long operated as Casablanca and was a staple of the Haslach industrial area. In the summer of 2018, the cinema closed – not primarily for economic reasons, but due to organizational challenges faced by the then operator. By the turn of the year 2018/2019, a turnaround followed: under new management, the cinema reopened as Cine Chiemgau Traunstein. The new operator announced investments of around 500,000 euros to improve technology, acoustics, foyer, and seating distances. Part of the plan was to reduce the number of seats and create larger distances and steeper rows – an approach that makes today's comfort in the three halls understandable. The restart connected to the regional cinema tradition: the brand Cine Chiemgau was already established in nearby Traunreut; the management in Traunstein was taken over by an experienced team that carefully modernized the venue. For visitors, this meant from 2019 onwards: reliable programming, modern technology, and noticeably more space. The fact that the name Casablanca is still known in the region shows the cinema's roots in Traunstein; the current name Cine Chiemgau Traunstein also makes clear where the journey has gone: towards modernized family and blockbuster evenings, combined with a service that caters to the regional audience. The development fits into the renewal of the surroundings: in the Haslach industrial area, locations are being further developed, traffic connections optimized, and the link to the city center strengthened. Thus, the venue looks back on a history where continuity and new beginnings come together – a cinema that does not forget its origins and offers its guests modern standards today.

It was really great! The staff was friendly and the cinema was nice. But there was no still water to buy! And there should be. The nachos tasted a bit sad, but the sweet popcorn was absolutely amazing.

A very cute little cinema. It feels very family-like there. The sweet popcorn wasn't really our thing because of the strong vanilla flavor.

We used 2 cinemas ;-) One for an action movie One for a kids movie Everything very clean, followed Corona hygiene regulations Very friendly staff at the counter, we were allowed to choose our seats really generously, great!! Of course, a must on cinema day is the popcorn, fresh and crunchy, and a drink, which was also reasonably priced. The foyer isn't that cozy, so one point less. Conclusion: Great cinema day, price-performance is okay. Good sound and nice picture. Definitely would come again!!

Nice and quiet :) I was here with my boyfriend and he said it was so much more pleasant than anywhere in a bigger city. The snacks taste good and there's a good selection of movies.
