A Journey of Thoughts to the Moon: The DLR_Space_Show in Traunstein
On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the Chiemgau Campus in Traunstein will transform into a stage for space travel, research, and major future questions. The interactive DLR_Space_Show invites all interested parties to a fascinating trip into outer space – free of charge and without registration.
From the Apollo Era to the Return to the Moon
The performance combines scientific information with lively stage art. In an entertaining journey of thoughts, the DLR_School_Lab Oberpfaffenhofen takes us back to the Apollo missions and the historical moon landings before shifting focus to the present and the next steps in human spaceflight.
The centerpiece is the return of humans to the Moon. Impressive images, understandable explanations, and exciting experiments make visible how space research works and what technological challenges are associated with future moon missions.
Science Becomes a Stage Experience
The DLR_Space_Show promotes direct participation. Experiments and interactive moments bring research out of the lab into the event space. This creates a theatrical atmosphere where curiosity, amazement, and insight closely interplay.
The DLR_School_Lab Oberpfaffenhofen represents hands-on research. Its fields of study include rockets and satellites, robotics, earth observation, space control, and technologies for the exploration of the Moon and Mars. The show translates this expertise into an accessible dramaturgy for families, young space enthusiasts, and curious adults.
For Young Explorers
The event is recommended for children from about ten years of age. Kids and teens experience space travel not as a distant chapter in science history, but as an open future project. Audience reactions arise from the alternation of images, experiments, and big questions: How will humans travel to the Moon in the future? Which systems ensure a mission's safety? And what role does research play in the future of humanity?
Conclusion: Right into the Adventure of Space
The DLR_Space_Show promises an inspiring stage experience that combines a science show, educational program, and interactive performance. Those who want to not only observe space travel but think along and experience it will find an impressive access to the great adventure of the Moon on October 28, 2026, at the Chiemgau Campus.
