Hochberg Prize 2026: Historic Vehicles Conquer the Hochberg
On Sunday, October 11, 2026, Traunstein will transform into a stage for automotive classics. At the Hochberg Prize, vintage cars, motorcycles, and sidecar rigs will start at the swimming pool in Daxerau and drive up to the Hochberg. The event day combines athletic precision, Bavarian landscape, and the special atmosphere of a traditional classic car hill climb.
Engine Sounds and Nostalgic Ambiance
When shiny chrome, characterful bodies, and historical motorcycles roll to the start, an impressive event experience is created for motorsport fans, families, and lovers of classic vehicles. The audience's atmosphere thrives on direct contact with the track and the diverse participant field featuring cars, motorcycles, and sidecar rigs.
Consistency over Top Speed
The focus is not on maximum speed, but on a precise and consistent drive. This special form of classic car sports combines driving skill, concentration, and technical intuition. For spectators, this mix is particularly appealing: alongside the sound of the engines, the fascinating observation of how proficiently the teams tackle the hill climb is captivating.
Start at the Swimming Pool, Finish at the Hochberg
The starting point is located at the Traunstein swimming pool in Daxerau. From there, the route leads via the county road TS 29 to the Hochberg. The official event day is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Due to the classic car hill climb, the county road between Daxerau and Hochberg will be temporarily closed. The closures are planned from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM; a detour will be signposted.
Event Management with Athletic Precision
The organization is managed by DJK Traunstein together with the city association of sports clubs in Traunstein. The event appeals to a diverse target audience: experienced classic car enthusiasts, motorsport-loving visitors, families, and all those who want to experience historic vehicles in an authentic setting. The interplay of event planning, track safety, and athletic evaluation creates a fitting ambiance for a varied autumn day.
