Who Is Jesus to Me? A Biblical Day Between Literature and Faith
The question of Jesus touches the heart, mind, and personal faith experience. The Biblical Day at the House St. Rupert in Traunstein provides space for reflection, exchange, and a deeper encounter with biblical texts. The central focus is the personal question of what image of Jesus shapes one’s life and spirituality.
Discovering Diverse Images of Jesus
Together with Johannes Hagl and Dr. Dr. Christoph Hentschel, the day introduces different portrayals of Jesus. Insights from contemporary literature engage with New Testament texts and open new perspectives on Jesus as a wandering preacher, miracle worker, prophet, psychotherapist, charismatic, revolutionary, Christ, Son of God, and savior.
Literature in Conversation with the New Testament
A starting point is Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt's novel The Gospel According to Pilate. The literary search for the truth about Jesus invites participants to examine their own viewpoints. In dialogue with biblical traditions, it becomes evident how literature, theology, and personal faith practice can complement each other.
The Disciples’ Question as an Invitation
In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus asks his disciples: Who do you say I am? This biblical question also addresses the participants. It opens a personal approach to prayer, Bible reading, and Christian spirituality. The Biblical Day combines expert impulses with an open atmosphere where different experiences and viewpoints are welcomed.
A Day of Encounter and Reflection
The House St. Rupert is an educational and meeting place for people who engage intensively with questions of life and faith. The quiet atmosphere of the house supports concentrated reading, collective reflection, and personal exchange. Thus, the day becomes a faith experience that connects biblical expertise with spiritual community.
Participation and Registration
The Biblical Day takes place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The participation fee is 40 euros, including meals. Registration is possible until November 10, 2026, with the Catholic Adult Education Center Traunstein. The organizer is KBW Traunstein in cooperation with the educational operation St. Rupert.
This day invites you to question familiar ideas, read biblical texts anew, and meet Jesus from a personal perspective. Those who wish to connect literature, the Bible, and faith questions will find an inspiring space for exchange and religious experience at the House St. Rupert.
