When Psalms and Music Bring Hope
A Day with the Bible and Music invites you on Saturday, October 10, 2026, to a special spiritual experience at the House St. Rupert in Traunstein. The focus is on the biblical question “Watchman, is the night soon over?” and thus the human longing for guidance, comfort, and a new morning.
Let everything that breathes praise the Lord
The Psalms have accompanied people for millennia through joy, fear, lament, gratitude, and hope. Their prayer connects personal life questions with communal faith practice. The Psalm verse “Let everything that breathes praise the Lord” from Psalm 150:6 opens a door to a vibrant spirituality where voice, sound, and movement come together.
Biblical texts in the sound of Mendelssohn's Hymn of Praise
A special emphasis is placed on Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's sacred music. In his “Hymn of Praise,” the composer connects various Psalm verses into an impressive musical interpretation. The fear of death, the question about the end of the night, and gratitude for experienced help lead to the praise of God.
The participants will hear Mendelssohn's “Hymn of Praise” multiple times and discover the composer as a sensitive interpreter of biblical texts. Thus, a faith experience arises between Bible study, music, and personal reflection.
Listening together, reflecting, and drawing strength
Under the guidance of Dr. Christine Abart, the education day combines theological reflection with conscious listening. The religious experience opens space for questions, inner calm, and new perspectives on one’s own daily life. Psalms appear not only as ancient prayers but as words that also touch today’s life situations.
The event is held in cooperation with the St. Rupert educational establishment and is offered by the Catholic Educational Center Traunstein. The participation fee of 40 euros includes meals. Registration with KBW Traunstein is required by October 6, 2026.
A Day for Faith, Music, and Community
Visitors can expect an inspiring education day with biblical impulses, sacred music, and collective engagement with the Psalms. Those who wish to experience the power of prayer, theology, and music live will find at the House St. Rupert a protected space for reflection, exchange, and spiritual community.
