"What is Going On?": Young Art Between Present and Future
The City Gallery at the Cultural Forum Traunstein will present the exhibition "What is Going On?" starting November 6, 2026. Six young artists focus on central questions of the present: identity, community, crisis, past, and future. Their collaboratively conceived exhibition combines different artistic perspectives into a multifaceted image of the young generation.
Art as a Reflection of a Dynamic Present
Visual art sensitively responds to societal changes. In "What is Going On?" this quality serves as a foundation for an open work examination. The presented works question how personal experiences, social relationships, and global crises are articulated in painting, sculpture, installation, and other forms of contemporary art.
The exhibition features Philippa Jell, Paul Grassler, Philip Alexander Craubner, Senta Strähhuber, Daniel Janzarik, and Michael Cvetkov-Rieplhuber. Some of the participants are still in artistic training, while others have already completed their studies and are further developing their positions on the way into the professional art world.
Six Positions, One Shared Resonance Space
The curation does not rely on a uniform artistic direction but on the dialogue between individual stances. Different materials, forms, and visual languages relate to each other. It is precisely from this tension that the exhibition atmosphere emerges: visitors encounter young art that not only provides answers but opens perception and formulates new questions.
A documented work by Senta Strähhuber from 2025 combines carved lime wood, aluminum sheet, shellac, pigments, and watercolor paint. The diversity of materials points to an artistic practice where surface, physicality, and craftsmanship play a central role. Such works invite concentrated aesthetic experience and slowed observation.
Cultural Education Through Immediate Work Encounter
"What is Going On?" offers a vivid access to contemporary art and cultural education. The exhibition makes visible how young artists engage with societal debates and translate them into independent artistic forms. In this process, space is created for personal interpretations as well as for art historical placement and shared conversation.
The City Gallery at the Cultural Forum Traunstein displays the exhibition on the second floor. It is open from Wednesday to Friday from 11 AM to 5 PM and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 1 PM to 6 PM. Admission is free.
Conclusion: An Art Experience with Open Eyes
The exhibition "What is Going On?" invites art enthusiasts for a focused encounter with six young positions that critically and experientially question their present. Those who wish to experience current art as aesthetic experience, societal resonance space, and invitation to think should definitely visit this exhibition live at the City Gallery at the Cultural Forum Traunstein.
