Young Art in Dialogue: The Closing Tour of "What's Going On?"

On Sunday, November 29, 2026, the Municipal Gallery at the Cultural Forum Traunstein invites you to the closing tour of the exhibition "What's Going On?" From 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Philippa Jell, Paul Grassler, Philip Alexander Craubner, Senta Strähhuber, Daniel Janzarik, and Michael Cvetkov-Rieplhuber will discuss their artistic motivation, their works, and the questions their young art addresses to the present. Admission is free.

Six Artistic Positions, One Common Resonance Space

The exhibition brings together six independent voices from young art. Central themes include identity, community, crisis, past, and future. Different working methods from painting, sculpture, installation, and material-related art enter into a dynamic dialogue. The curation does not rely on a unified art direction, but rather makes the diversity of perspectives visible as an aesthetic experience.

First-Hand Work Examination

The closing tour offers direct access to the exhibition: The artists explain their working processes, personal motivations, and the creation of their works themselves. This expands the examination of the works to include biographical, societal, and art historical contexts. Visitors will experience how individual experiences are translated into forms, materials, and visual languages.

Materiality, Spatial Impact, and the Present

A documented piece by Senta Strähhuber combines carved limewood, aluminum sheet, shellac, pigments, and watercolor paint. The combination of wood sculpture, processed metal, and colored surface draws attention to physicality, tactility, and artisanal precision. Such works reveal their impact particularly in direct encounter with the original and make the exhibition atmosphere experienceable as a sensual experience space.

Dialogue Between the Audience and Artists

The conversation between the audience and the artists is moderated by Judith Bader, the director of the Municipal Gallery. Her moderation combines art education with an open dialogue situation. Questions from the audience are given space and make the tour a lively format of cultural education. The event invites participants to articulate their perceptions and collectively question contemporary art.

An Art Experience to Conclude the Exhibition

The exhibition "What's Going On?" will be on view from November 6 to 29, 2026, on the second floor of the Municipal Gallery. The closing tour once again consolidates the various artistic positions in a personal encounter. Art enthusiasts can expect a concentrated art experience with direct exchange, vivid work communication, and an exhibition atmosphere that stimulates reflection on the present. Anyone who wants to not only view young art but also understand it through conversation with its creators should definitely attend this tour live.
