Opening Hours and Contact of the Oberhof Information

If you want to reach the Oberhof Information directly, you can use the phone number +49 36842 269 0 or write to information@oberhof.de. The contact page also offers a contact form through which questions about the town, holidays in the Thuringian Forest, or current topics in Oberhof can be sent. This direct accessibility is particularly helpful when travel plans are still being made, when questions about events arise at short notice, or when one needs reliable information quickly on-site. Especially in a holiday destination where weather and season influence daily routines, a well-accessible information center by phone and digitally is a noticeable comfort factor. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Kontakt?utm_source=openai))

The address is clearly marked: Crawinkler Straße 2, 98559 Oberhof. The official presence describes the facility as tourist information in the House of Guests or as a service point in the town. For search queries for a tourist information Oberhof, this is important because here not only a name but a real location with fixed hours and clear service is provided. Those visiting Oberhof for the first time will find an uncomplicated first point of contact. Those who already know the town can use the information as a targeted starting point for new excursions, current local information, or spontaneous advice. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Oberhof-Information?utm_source=openai))

The reliable opening hours from 09:00 to 17:00 are not just an organizational footnote but a real benefit for guests. In a place like Oberhof, which is heavily influenced by weather, winter sports, and seasonal offerings, a constant daily opening helps to gather information early in the day or in the afternoon. Those who want to keep their program flexible can quickly pick up tickets, information, and current tips before a walk, hike, or the next sports appointment. This practicality makes the Oberhof Information relevant for many visitors. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Oberhof-Information?utm_source=openai))

Holiday Planning, Hiking Trails, and Winter Service On-Site

The Oberhof Information officially sees itself as a place where guests can plan their holidays directly on-site. The staff assist with hiking trails, ski trails, skiing conditions, and excursion tips, addressing the questions that arise particularly frequently in Oberhof. The service is complemented by accommodation services, advice on hotel bookings, and information about the Oberhof Card. For travelers who arrive and then want to decide whether a walk, a hike, a winter day, or a short excursion is better, this broad advice is particularly valuable. The tourist information is thus not just an information desk but a real planning helper for the day. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Oberhof-Information?utm_source=openai))

The facilities of the Oberhof Information include, according to the official page, free Wi-Fi, a souvenir shop, and maps and trail information. This makes the facility a small service hub where one can inform, orient, and simultaneously take care of practical matters. Especially on a first visit, this is pleasant because Oberhof connects many different leisure areas: hiking, winter sports, excursions, and organized offerings. Those who enter here not only receive a brief hint but often the appropriate documents that are important for the day ahead. This also strengthens the search intention behind terms like photos, opening hours, or tourist information Oberhof, as visitors expect a reliable and versatile place. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/en/poi/detail/oberhof-information-b6464e53cf?utm_source=openai))

Particularly interesting is the role of the Oberhof Information for groups, events, and individual programs. The official description explicitly mentions event and group bookings as well as support from hotel planning to social programs. Possible highlights include bobsled rides and biathlon shooting for guests. This clearly shows that the tourist information works not only for classic holidaymakers but also for clubs, companies, groups of friends, or day visitors with specific experience wishes. For a destination like Oberhof, which is strongly associated with sports and active holidays, this form of advice is a central quality feature. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/en/poi/detail/oberhof-information-b6464e53cf?utm_source=openai))

Traveling and Parking in Oberhof

The journey to Oberhof is clearly described on the official website via the highways. From the north or south, the A71 leads to the town with the exit Oberhof/Zella-Mehlis, and from the east or west, the A4 with the exit Gotha/Schwabhausen and the continuation via the marked route via B247 and L3247. For guests arriving by car, this is important because Oberhof, as a tourist town, has many seasonal visitor flows, and clear route guidance significantly eases arrival. The Oberhof Information is thus also a helpful information point for the journey itself, not just for the stay on-site. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Anreise-Parken/Anreise-mit-dem-Auto?utm_source=openai))

When it comes to parking, Oberhof is surprisingly well-equipped. The official summer page mentions around 2,000 free parking spaces in the town center and additionally paid parking spaces as well as a parking garage offer. Among others, Am Kurpark, Im Gründle, Grenzadler, Tambacher Straße / Zum Grenzadler, Am Rondell, Wadeberg, the City Parking Oberhof, and the Oberhof parking garage are mentioned. Particularly practical: The parking lot Am Kurpark is located directly next to the Oberhof Information and offers about 50 parking spaces. This makes the tourist information very easily accessible for spontaneous visits and particularly attractive for those who want to start their orientation in the town right at the center. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Anreise-Parken/Parken-im-Sommer?utm_source=openai))

In winter, additional features come into play. The website points out winter parking, the ski bus, and seasonal information because snow conditions, events, and winter sports can change the traffic situation. Those visiting Oberhof in winter should therefore not only know the address but also check the current parking and traffic situation. Especially for day visitors, it is pleasant that the town relies not only on classic parking spaces but also on shuttle and bus solutions. Therefore, those looking to park near Oberhof Information will find concrete, practical hints instead of general platitudes. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Anreise-Parken?utm_source=openai))

Bus, Guest Card, and Practical Mobility

A strong advantage for Oberhof is local mobility with the bus and guest card. The city line 423 is free for holders of the guest card within Oberhof, and the official site explicitly describes it as a convenient connection to ski trail entrances, ski areas, and hiking starting points. Additionally, line 422 from Oberhof to Zella-Mehlis is mentioned, which is not included in the guest card. For guests who are traveling without a car or want to consciously leave their vehicle behind, this is a real advantage. This allows for a more flexible holiday, and the Oberhof Information becomes the starting point for more environmentally friendly and relaxed mobility in the town. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Anreise-Parken/busfahrplan?utm_source=openai))

The traffic information also shows how strongly Oberhof is geared towards a relaxed daily routine. According to the official description, central parking options are located near the center, at the northern town entrance at Wadeberg and at the southern town entrance at the parking lot Zum Gründle. This allows for flexible combinations of hikes, sports facilities, and local paths. Thus, those visiting the Oberhof Information can not only target an address but also consider the entire mobility network of the town. This is particularly useful for people who want to decide in the morning whether to continue on foot, by bus, or by car. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Anreise-Parken/busfahrplan?utm_source=openai))

In addition, the website points out seasonal offerings such as the ski bus. This fits with Oberhof as a travel destination because the town is heavily influenced by sports, snow, and weather. Especially when many visitors arrive simultaneously, the combination of bus connections, central parking spaces, and clear indications is a real comfort factor. For search queries about traveling, buses, and parking, this is therefore one of the most important topics at all. The Oberhof Information not only provides tourism information but also concrete orientation for everyday life during the holiday. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Anreise-Parken?utm_source=openai))

Hiking Trails, Ski Trails, and Winter Sports in Oberhof

Oberhof is not only a place for information but also a well-known winter sports location. The official site emphasizes that Oberhof is known for international competitions such as the Biathlon World Cup and the Luge World Cup and is worth visiting year-round. For the tourist information, this means: guests often come with very specific questions about snow, ski trails, sports facilities, and current conditions. This is exactly where the Oberhof Information delivers its strongest performance, as it combines local knowledge with sports experience and regional orientation. Those visiting Oberhof are not only looking for information but often the best entry into an active program. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Oberhof-Information?utm_source=openai))

Particularly helpful are the information on hikes and winter sports offerings. The official site refers to guided Rennsteig hikes, sports facility hikes, and other tours that are regularly organized through the Oberhof Information. Additionally, there are hints on ski and trail conditions so that guests do not have to start blindly but can adjust their tour to the real situation. In a place like Oberhof, where nature experiences and sports are closely linked, this is a central added value for all who want to be active. Thus, a simple tourist information becomes a practical planning center for the day. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Oberhof-Information?utm_source=openai))

The Oberhof snow phone is also part of this service image. The site mentions a dedicated snow hotline and refers to current snow depths and trail information. Additionally, the daily post of the city or tourism provides a current snow report. This is particularly useful for winter guests because conditions can change rapidly, and the question of where good conditions still exist is often more important than any general description. Therefore, those searching for ski conditions at Oberhof Information find a real added value that goes far beyond classic brochures. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Kontakt?utm_source=openai))

Photos, Modernization, and Current Impressions

Those looking for photos of the Oberhof Information will find several images around the building, the region, and the tourist environment on the official pages. The facility became particularly visible through its reopening after comprehensive modernization on May 2, 2025. The official press release describes a revised concept and a new appearance, with which the Oberhof Information is once again available to guests and locals in the heart of the town. This makes the location visually more interesting than a classic information desk because here not only function but also identity is conveyed. For search queries for photos, this modernized appearance is a strong signal. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Presse/wiedereroeffnung-oberhof-information?utm_source=openai))

The reopening was also accompanied by a photo exhibition, which further strengthens the character of the location. Even though the specific exhibition was a time-bound element, it shows how the Oberhof Information not only distributes information but also sees itself as a culturally and regionally anchored address. For visitors looking for photos, current impressions, or a first visual impression, this mix of service, atmosphere, and regional identity is important. This also explains why many users search for terms like photos, reviews, or tourist information Oberhof for the same place: they want to know how the location feels before they arrive. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Presse/wiedereroeffnung-oberhof-information?utm_source=openai))

As an overall picture, it remains primarily a practical, easily accessible, and daily open tourist information that is closely connected to the town. Oberhof is geared towards short distances, weather competence, and winter sports, and the information at Am Kurpark bundles these strengths at a central point. Those who only know Oberhof as a destination on the map receive the appropriate entry here, those who already know the town find current information, and those planning an excursion receive orientation without detours. This is exactly why so many users search for opening hours, phone numbers, photos, and directions in a single step. The Oberhof Information provides a clear and trustworthy starting point for this. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Oberhof-Information?utm_source=openai))

Events, Groups, and Why a Visit is Worthwhile

The Oberhof Information is also exciting because it cannot be reduced to a single function. The official site refers to events, guided hikes, sports offerings, and current daily information. For guests, this means: those arriving in Oberhof can immediately connect their visit to the information with a concrete experience. Whether day trip, weekend trip, or longer holiday, the team on-site supports the choice of the right program and helps translate the many possibilities of the town into meaningful daily routines. Especially groups and families benefit from this, as decisions on-site are often made faster and better than at home at the desk. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Oberhof-Information?utm_source=openai))

The official description also makes it clear that Oberhof Information and the town are closely linked. It is not just about opening hours and phone numbers, but about travel planning with a regional connection: hiking trails, ski trails, skiing conditions, accommodation, events, maps, souvenirs, and mobility interconnect. This density of information is particularly valuable for a destination like Oberhof because many guests seek an active holiday with nature, sports, and short distances. Therefore, those who stop here not only receive answers to individual questions but often a complete picture of how to experience Oberhof meaningfully. ([oberhof.de](https://www.oberhof.de/Info-Service/Oberhof-Information?utm_source=openai))

The location at Crawinkler Straße 2 is also ideal for this because it is central and well visible. Due to its proximity to the parking lot Am Kurpark and other local offerings, visiting the tourist information can easily be combined with a walk, a town tour, or another program point. Those who want to orient themselves on-site start here at a point that is not only practical but also typical for Oberhof: compact, sporty, service-oriented, and visitor-focused. This explains why the Oberhof Information is frequently in focus for search queries about tourist information Oberhof, opening hours, parking, or hiking. We contacted the Oberhof Tourist Information Office – both by phone beforehand and in person – and it was a very positive experience. Even on the phone, we received extremely friendly, patient, and competent advice. Our questions were answered thoroughly, and we received helpful tips for our stay. This positive impression was confirmed on-site: The staff were very helpful and attentive, and they took the time to address our individual needs. As a guest, you truly feel welcome and well taken care of. A big thank you to the team – this is exactly how a tourist information office should be! 😊

This morning we booked the "Biathlon Shooting for Everyone" activity, which can only be booked through the tourist information office, and arrived promptly at 1:00 PM at the shooting range near Krenzadler. However, the staff member on site was unable to conduct the event for us because the booking was too late. We then called the tourist information office and drove back home empty-handed. We did receive a refund, but no apology. Very disappointing. This is not what professionalism looks like.
