Katrin Rührgartner e.K. | Butcher & Inn
Katrin Rührgartner e.K. is located at Maximilianstraße 4 in Traunstein, a destination for those who want to shop, eat, order, and celebrate in the city center. The establishment combines butcher, inn, and catering services in a way that is still rarely found in Bavaria: fresh meat and sausage products in the morning and during the day, Bavarian cuisine at lunchtime, along with a takeout service and catering options for private or commercial events. On the homepage, the establishment describes itself as a place with fresh goods from the region, natural ingredients, and traditional recipes that continue to thrive in everyday life despite modern production. This very mix makes the location so interesting for seekers: those looking for opening hours, lunch menus, regional cuisine, catering services, or the name Katrin Rührgartner e.K. will find a business with a clear identity and strong local ties. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/))
The profile is intentionally down-to-earth yet versatile. The business refers to itself on the website as a butcher and tavern in the heart of Traunstein and claims to be the last butcher inn in the city. From an SEO perspective, these aspects are important because they cater to multiple search intents simultaneously: users search for the business name, a traditional butcher, an inn with Bavarian cuisine, or a provider for celebrations and catering. The culinary culture is also clearly recognizable: homemade delicacies, snacks, regional products, and daily specials featuring classic dishes from Bavarian cuisine. For visitors and regular guests, the address is therefore not just a business but a piece of vibrant Traunstein everyday culture. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/))
Tradition, History, and the Last Butcher Inn in Traunstein
The unique history of Rührgartner is a central part of the brand and a strong theme for search engine optimization. The official website emphasizes that the family continues the old connection between inn and its own butcher shop in the third generation, thus preserving a tradition that was once commonplace in Old Bavaria. The designation as the last butcher inn in Traunstein is not just a marketing phrase but a unique selling point that clearly distinguishes the establishment from an ordinary butcher or inn. Those searching for tradition, history, or regional identity will find here more than just a product list: it’s about craftsmanship, family history, and a form of business where origin and preparation are closely linked. This interplay is attractive to many guests because it signals reliability, authenticity, and a clear culinary profile. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/))
The website also mentions specific historical milestones. For instance, Benedikt and Katharina Rührgartner took over the property from the Maximiliansbrauerei in 1953; in 1969, the property was purchased. These dates show that the business is deeply rooted in the city's history and did not originate from a modern gastro concept. At the same time, the website points out that production is carried out at the highest level, but the traditional recipes from Benedikt Rührgartner still form the most important basis. The famous Rührgartner Weißwurst is also mentioned, and the potato salad is still made according to Katharina Rührgartner's recipe. For visitors, this is a strong signal: here, dishes are not just offered, but rather specialties that have grown over the years and visibly carry the name of the house. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/))
Opening Hours, Takeout Service, and Daily Specials at Rührgartner
A particularly frequently searched topic is opening hours. The website provides very clear information, which varies by area: the inn is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 09:00 to 14:30. On Wednesday, there is also evening service from 18:00 to 23:00, while Sunday and Monday are rest days. For the warm kitchen, the website states 11:00 to 14:00 and on Wednesday from 18:00 to 20:00. The butcher shop has its own hours: Tuesday to Thursday from 7:30 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 18:00, Friday from 7:30 to 18:00, and Saturday from 7:30 to 12:30. This separation is practical as it shows when visiting is best for shopping, dining in-house, and placing an order. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/))
The opening hours are complemented by a takeout service for the daily specials between 11:00 and 14:00. This is important for many guests who do not want to sit long at lunchtime but prefer to take good food with them. The current menus from March 2026 show that the kitchen focuses heavily on classic, hearty dishes. The menu includes, among other things, pretzel soup with beef and cheese, melted bread soup with liver sausage, veal lungs with bread dumplings, Bavarian slaughter platter, well meat with bread dumplings and sauerkraut, roast pork with bread dumplings and bacon-cabbage salad, as well as potato pancakes with applesauce. This is exactly the type of lunch offer that users search for with terms like daily specials, lunch menu, Bavarian cuisine, or takeout service. The menu changes regularly and is therefore particularly relevant for current search queries, while the website also makes it clear that the kitchen combines tradition and everyday utility. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/wp-content/uploads/19.03.2026.pdf?utm_source=openai))
Butcher, Regional Products, and Bavarian Specialties
The butcher shop is the heart of the establishment and a strong SEO topic because many users search with terms like butcher Traunstein, regional products, or traditional sausage products. The homepage states that the goods come fresh from the region and that meat is sourced from farmers and hunters in the area. Additionally, natural ingredients and a quality standard that explicitly focuses on unadulterated taste are emphasized. These statements are important for the positioning of the business because they place origin, freshness, and craftsmanship at the forefront. The business also makes it clear that not only the end product counts but also the method of production: modern, but with respect for established recipes and traditional processes. This fits well with a butcher shop that not only sells but also offers its own kitchen and specialties. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/))
The range of products and dishes is also broad. The website mentions, among other things, veal schnitzel, pretzel soup, sour liver, beef roast, and boiled ox meat as classics. For hearty snacks, crispy focaccia, filled baguettes, a hot counter, and a large selection of salads are highlighted. This is interesting for search engines and real visitors alike because it shows that the address is suitable not only for buying meat and sausage but also for quick meals, snacks, and uncomplicated lunch solutions. The daily specials from March 2026 complement this profile with further dishes such as goulash soup, matjes fillet housewife style, sole fillet, gnocchi in gorgonzola cream sauce, boiled ox meat, baked spleen sausage, or ham noodles. This creates a picture of a kitchen that combines Bavarian classics, regional products, and practical variety. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/))
Catering and Catering for Private and Commercial Events
In addition to the butcher shop and inn, the catering service plays an important role. The official website clearly highlights this area and describes it as an offering for private and commercial events. It is not only about the delivery of food but also explicitly about planning, organization, service, and decoration as desired. For SEO analysis, this is a separate search field because users search for catering Traunstein, catering service, or event catering and find a provider with a regional profile here. According to the website, the offering ranges from hearty liver cheese to exotic finger food. This very range makes the business interesting: it can present itself as Bavarian and down-to-earth, but also assemble modern and varied buffets. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/))
The examples on the website also showcase the breadth very well. Among other things, canapés, raw nut ham on plum puree, grilled scampi on pumpkin seed sour cream, butter cheese flowers with Tellicherry pepper, tomato-basil cream cheese, Bavarian crust roast with sprouts, matjes perch tartare, mini schnitzel rolls, tafelspitz aspic with horseradish foam, salmon tartare on tramezzini and coarse cream cheese, carpaccio from bresaola, trout mousse on Parisienne, scallops with vanilla and young olive oil, and a Bavarian gourmet platter are mentioned. This selection shows that the catering service is not limited to a single type of cuisine. It can combine regional tradition, fine starters, and international influences. For users, this is especially relevant when planning a celebration and looking for a provider who can offer culinary diversity, regional roots, and organizational support at the same time. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/))
Directions, Location, and Parking in the Traunstein City Center
The address Maximilianstraße 4 is located right in the center of Traunstein, and this location is a practical argument for many visitors. The city of Traunstein provides general information about parking in the city center and lists several options, including the P1 train station parking tunnel with 170 spaces, the P2 town hall-center underground garage with 200 spaces, the P2 center/Karl-Theodor-Platz with 310 spaces, and the P3 festival ground on Siegsdorfer Straße with 500 spaces. Additionally, the city points out that there are around 700 street parking spaces in the city center. For a central address like Rührgartner, this means from a visitor's perspective: getting to the city center can be combined with several public parking options, even though the website itself does not highlight a dedicated parking lot as a main feature. This classification is a sensible conclusion from the official location information and the city's parking information. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/))
Particularly useful are also the rules for vehicles with electric license plates. According to the city of Traunstein, such vehicles may park for free for up to three hours in public parking spaces starting April 1, 2025, provided the parking disc is displayed correctly. Depending on the area, the maximum parking duration still applies: in the Traunstein city center, normally two hours, at the train station 30 minutes. At Karl-Theodor-Platz, three hours of free parking time is possible. For visitors to Rührgartner, this is practical because the establishment is located in the center, making city center parking directly relevant. Those who prefer to walk or stay for a shorter time will find several suitable options in the vicinity. The city also refers to the Parkster app, large parking lots, and an overview map, which further facilitates planning. For a venue with a butcher shop, inn, and takeout service, such a central location combined with urban parking infrastructure is a significant advantage. Contact, Orders, and Practical Information for Visitors
For the practical use of the offerings, the contact details are as important as the opening hours. The imprint states Katrin Rührgartner e.K. at Maximilianstraße 4 in 83278 Traunstein. The business can be reached by phone at 0861 / 4753, and the official email address is info@ruehrgartner.de. Those who want to inform themselves about current opening hours, daily specials, or offers before a visit will find the essential information on the website in one place. Especially for a business with multiple areas, this is useful because the butcher shop, inn, takeout service, and catering have different requirements and times. For search queries related to address, contact, orders, and opening hours, this clear structure is a plus. ([ruehrgartner.de](https://ruehrgartner.de/impressum/?utm_source=openai))
It is also practical that the website clearly describes the character of the establishment: fresh, regional, traditional, and modernly organized. Visitors who specifically search for a butcher shop in Traunstein will find here an address with its own kitchen, changing daily specials, and the possibility to take food with them or have events catered. Those looking for a Bavarian inn with regional ties will get homemade delicacies and well-known classics. Those needing a catering service will find a wide range from hearty buffets to finer starters. This multifunctionality makes Rührgartner so strong for local SEO: one name, multiple search intents, a clear location, and concrete, up-to-date information.
My favorite butcher shop!!!! I absolutely love going there because the quality is so, so good, and the service is top-notch. They also have a really nice owner...that's probably why the same staff have been working there for so long. Hats off to them!
