Traunstein Outdoor Pool | Opening Hours & Prices
The Traunstein outdoor pool is a classic family and adventure pool with an urban character, clear usage rules, and an offering that ranges from a cozy day at the pool to competitive swimming. Those looking for opening hours, admission prices, season tickets, directions, parking, kiosk, or accessibility details will find here a location that is not only well-known in Traunstein itself but is also perceived as part of the Chiemgau pool world. The pool is located at Am Schwimmbad 15 in 83278 Traunstein and is operated by the city of Traunstein; the current city website emphasizes the combination of a wide wave slide, adventure pool with water mushroom and current channel, 50-meter competition pool, and children's splash pool. Additionally, there are sunbathing lawns, wooden terraces, sports areas, and a family area, making the place a bathing destination, meeting point, and summer project all in one. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/schwimmbad))
Opening Hours and Opening of the Traunstein Outdoor Pool
Regarding the keyword around opening hours and opening, the most important information is clear: The Traunstein outdoor pool is a seasonally organized pool that is officially operated by the city with fixed summer hours. Currently, the city states that the pool operates daily from 9 AM to 7 PM in May, from 9 AM to 8 PM in June, July, and August, and from 9 AM to 7 PM in September. Important for all those planning in changeable weather: The city explicitly points out that the pool is open daily, even on bad weather days. This positions the outdoor pool not as a weather lottery but as a reliable summer address for Traunstein and the region. So, anyone searching for now open, opening 2025, or opening will mainly want to know if the trip is worth it even in mixed weather conditions. The official answer is: Yes, the operation is geared towards the summer season and is offered continuously throughout the day, rather than only on selected days. For those comparing with 2025 or 2026, the current announcement on the city website is also relevant, stating that season tickets will be available at the pool cash desk starting Wednesday, April 8, 2026, and pre-sales will run until April 30, 2026. This shows how early the season is organizationally prepared and that the pool involves its regular guests even before the actual bathing routine with ticket supply, cash desk, and seasonal processes. This planning is particularly practical for families, clubs, and regular sporty guests, as the visit does not have to be decided only on the first hot weekend. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/schwimmbad))
From the perspective of search intent, this is also exciting: Those asking if the Traunstein outdoor pool is now open do not just want a yes or no, but rather a reliable orientation. Exactly this is provided by the city website with clear time frames and the note on the suitability of the operation for bad weather. This is not a given for an outdoor pool, as many outdoor facilities react strongly to temperature and occupancy. In Traunstein, the communication is intentionally different: The visitor should be able to expect a fixed season, even if the sky is not completely cloudless. Additionally, the fact that the city makes the opening hours visible directly on the outdoor pool page and does not bury them in a hidden PDF is beneficial. For SEO and user-friendliness, this is ideal, as the most important information is immediately findable. So, anyone wanting to swim spontaneously on a warm May or September day will find the times directly at the source. And those planning a longer afternoon in June or August can read the extended opening hours until 8 PM as a real plus. This is a strong argument for working people, families with children, and anyone arriving only in the afternoon. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/schwimmbad))
Admission Prices, Season Tickets, and Pre-Sales
In terms of search terms prices, admission, season ticket, and pre-sale, the Traunstein outdoor pool presents itself as a transparently calculated municipal pool. The current price overview states that adults pay 4.50 euros per single admission, children and teenagers from 6 to 17 years old pay 3.00 euros, and babies and toddlers from 0 to 5 years old have free admission. Discounts are also clearly regulated: Students and trainees up to 25 years old, as well as volunteers and federal volunteers, pay 3.00 euros with ID, seniors from 65 years old pay 4.00 euros, and severely disabled adults from 50 GdB pay 3.50 euros. For families, there is a family ticket for 9.50 euros, which is only valid for simultaneous admission. Those searching for admission to the Traunstein outdoor pool receive a pricing model that does not rely on complicated tariff logic but on understandable groups and a clear tiering. This is particularly user-friendly for families, grandparents with grandchildren, or young adults in training who want to quickly know what to expect in their daily planning. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/media/11929/preisliste-freibad-stadt-traunstein.pdf))
For all those interested in season tickets, the price structure is even more exciting. Adults pay according to the price overview 80.00 euros, in pre-sale 75.00 euros. For children and teenagers, as well as for students, trainees, and federal volunteers, the season ticket costs 39.00 euros, in pre-sale 34.00 euros. The family ticket costs 140.00 euros, in pre-sale 135.00 euros. For severely disabled adults from 50 GdB, 55.00 euros are due, in pre-sale 50.00 euros; children and teenagers with disabilities, as well as severely disabled adults with 100 GdB, receive free access. Additionally, the city offers a dozen ticket with sales and subsequent year validity, as well as a combined season ticket for the pools in Bergen, Siegsdorf, Traunstein, Inzell, Ruhpolding, and Reit im Winkl. This combo card is particularly relevant for guests who do not only spend the summer in Traunstein but want to use several pools in the region. Rental items are also listed: a seasonal storage locker costs 40.00 euros, a sunbed per day 3.00 euros, a rental of a soccer, volleyball, or basketball 1.50 euros, a kicker ball 0.50 euros, and table tennis paddles with ball also 1.50 euros. This shows that the price structure does not only regulate admission but also considers the entire day at the pool. Those staying longer, wanting to exercise, or needing to securely store items receive a comprehensible additional offer. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/media/11929/preisliste-freibad-stadt-traunstein.pdf))
Particularly helpful for search queries like season ticket 2025 or pre-sale is the current information from the city that season tickets have been available at the pool cash desk since April 8, 2026, and that the discounted pre-sale runs until April 30, 2026. Additionally, the city points out that season tickets can be reused when purchasing a new ticket and do not have to be returned. This is a small but practical point that saves regular guests time and avoids unnecessary trips. So, anyone who comes regularly can treat the season ticket as a long-lasting usage medium instead of having to recalculate, reorganize, and collect old tickets every year. The affiliation with the Chiemgau pool world and the partnership with EGYM Wellpass are also relevant for price perception, as they make the outdoor pool not just a single destination but a part of a regional and partially operationally usable bathing network. For SEO, this is invaluable, as searchers for prices, season tickets, and pre-sales often need exactly this combination of standard rates, discounts, and network benefits. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/schwimmbad))
Pools, Slide, Kiosk, and Leisure Offers
The Traunstein outdoor pool thrives on its facilities, and this is where the most common search interests converge: slide, pool, kiosk, photos, water temperature, and adventure character. The city names the wide wave slide, the adventure pool with water mushroom and current channel, the 50-meter competition pool, and the children's splash pool as the heart of the offering on the official page. In the language of searchers, this means: Here, there is not just a normal pool, but several zones with different uses. Swimmers find the 50-meter pool for lanes and sports use, families experience a pool with a clear separation between relaxation, play, and movement, and children get an environment with splash areas, water attractions, and family zones that does not become boring immediately. The city also emphasizes that the water temperatures are pleasant and that the sanitary and changing rooms are heated. The city does not provide a specific degree, which is important for the search query about water temperature: There is a comfort promise, but no rigid number. This is communicated honestly and prevents false expectations. Those wanting to see pictures in advance will also find a picture slider on the official page with several views of the pool, which is practical for the keyword photos and provides a first visual impression. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/schwimmbad))
Leisure offers outside the water include spacious sunbathing lawns, wooden terraces, a beach volleyball court, a table tennis table, and a soccer field. The city explicitly emphasizes that there is plenty of space on the lawns and terraces, both for people seeking shade and for guests who prefer to lie in the sun. Additionally, it is possible to rent a sunbed for a fee, although availability is limited. Such details are crucial for search queries around facilities because they make the visit day planable: Do you need your own sunbed? Are there sports options besides swimming? Can you switch between active and relaxed use? The answer in the Traunstein outdoor pool is repeatedly yes. The family structure is also finely tuned, as the city mentions a family area with a baby splash pool and a playground directly next to it. This makes the place not just a swimming spot but a summer living space. The official house and bathing regulations complement this description with the note that special operational parts such as slides, 50-meter pool, adventure pool, children's pool, gastronomy, beach volleyball court, table tennis table, and soccer field each have their own notes and rules. This shows that the pool should not be used arbitrarily but in a structured manner. For searchers, this is relevant because they can infer how versatile and simultaneously orderly the stay is. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/schwimmbad))
The kiosk is also among the highly searched topics, and there are solid facts here as well. The house and bathing regulations explicitly mention gastronomy or a kiosk as part of the adventure warm pool. In the price and information world surrounding the pool, this is important because a summer day at the outdoor pool rarely consists of just swimming. Drinks, small snacks, or a short break are part of the overall package for many guests. The bathing regulations also make it clear that the kiosk area is a separate zone, especially regarding glass or porcelain containers, which may be excluded there. This is a safety detail, but also a hint that there is a designated catering area. For SEO, this is useful because the search term kiosk does not have to be answered with a mere assumption but with a clear yes. What is special about the Traunstein outdoor pool is the mix of family pool, sports pool, and leisure area. Those wanting to swim laps in the morning can do so in the 50-meter pool; those coming at noon with children will find water attractions, splash pools, and play areas; those wanting to stay in the afternoon can spread out on sunbathing lawns, terraces, or sports fields. This combination of functionality and summer fun makes the place so visible and search-strong. Directions and Parking at the Traunstein Outdoor Pool
The directions to the Traunstein outdoor pool are easy to name, as the official address is directly linked to the name: Am Schwimmbad 15, 83278 Traunstein. Those searching in the navigation system or on their smartphone will find a clear destination without detours. This is particularly important for families with luggage, visitors with strollers, and guests from outside, as short distances reduce stress even before entry. The city of Traunstein lists several relevant areas for parking in its general parking overview. Among them is the parking lot for the adventure swimming pool Traunstein at Siegsdorfer Straße 33, which is included in the overview of barrier-free and public parking spaces. Additionally, the city explicitly mentions the parking lot Schwimmbad at Am Schwimmbad 15 as a surrounding parking option during the Traunstein Spring Festival. For visitors arriving by car, this is the practical essence: The outdoor pool is not hidden somewhere but located at a clearly named swimming pool address with a comprehensible parking structure in the vicinity. So, anyone searching for parking receives not just a theoretical city map but concrete, officially named areas. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/schwimmbad))
It is also important that Traunstein generally works with public parking areas, parking garages, and large parking lots. The city parking page describes, among other things, the festival area at Siegsdorfer Straße with 500 parking spaces, which is constantly accessible and can be freely used for cars and buses. This is interesting for guests of the outdoor pool when there is a lot of activity at the pool itself or when one combines the pool visit with a short walk into the city. The city also mentions Parkster as a digital solution for parking with a smartphone, which is relevant for visitors planning several errands or a combined city and bathing stay in Traunstein. For electric license plates, free parking for up to three hours on public spaces has been in effect in Traunstein since April 1, 2025, although the maximum parking duration must still be observed depending on the zone. This does not only concern the outdoor pool but is useful for arriving in the whole city. Those traveling with children will especially appreciate the simple address and the identifiable areas, as this makes parking on-site feel less improvised. Especially on sunny days, when outdoor pool visits often arise spontaneously, a clear parking supply is a real plus. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/tourismus-freizeit/einkaufen-shopping/parken-in-traunstein/))
The location within the urban structure is also sensible: The outdoor pool is not on the edge of Traunstein as an anonymous sports facility but at a place that is immediately recognizable by name. In the city information, it even appears as the adventure swimming pool Traunstein, which emphasizes the adventure character alongside the classic outdoor pool concept. This helps searchers looking for parking, directions, parking lot, address, or swimming pool, as the terms are interconnected in the official environment. Practically, this means: Enter the address before the drive, consider the parking situation depending on occupancy, and if necessary, switch to the surrounding public areas. Those arriving by bicycle benefit from the fact that the pool has a clear swimming pool address and is thus also easily findable for shorter regional routes. The combination of swimming pool address, official parking overview, and central mention in the urban area makes orientation easy and SEO-strong at the same time. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/schwimmbad))
Accessibility, Family Area, and House Rules
Another major search topic around the Traunstein outdoor pool is accessibility. The city mentions barrier-free changing and sanitary facilities, as well as a hydraulically operated mobile lift system that can be used in both the swimmer and adventure pools. The seat of the pool lift rotates 90 degrees to make entry and exit more comfortable, and a footrest provides additional safety. These details are not just technical footnotes but concrete indications that the pool has been made usable for guests with physical disabilities. Those searching for barrier-free, accessible, or mobile access will find real infrastructure here and not just a marketing phrase. The official price overview complements this with its own rates for severely disabled adults and free admissions for certain groups. This shows the outdoor pool as a municipal facility that does not just claim accessibility but makes it visible in rules, facilities, and rates. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/schwimmbad))
The place is also very well set up for families. In addition to the children's splash pool, there is a dedicated family area with a baby splash pool and a playground right next to it. This is particularly important for parents with small children, as one does not have to constantly split the bathing stay between the pool and the playground. The city also emphasizes that the pool is open even on bad weather days and that the heated sanitary and changing rooms allow for a pleasant experience. The house and bathing regulations additionally specify that babies and toddlers may only enter the pool with swimwear or suitable swim diapers. Such details are particularly helpful for parents who want to know what is allowed and what should be brought before the first visit. The behavior around the pools is also clearly regulated: A thorough body cleaning is required before bathing, and special attractions such as slides or wild water areas require special caution. For families, this means not less fun but a comprehensible framework in which the pool day becomes safer and more planable. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/schwimmbad))
The house and bathing regulations are strict enough to ensure safety and order but are also formulated in such a way that the recreational value is preserved. It explicitly states that instructions from staff must be followed, that glass and porcelain containers are generally not allowed in the pool, that sunbeds should not be reserved with towels, and that photographing or filming other people without consent is prohibited. For searchers, this initially sounds like restrictions, but in practice, it protects the atmosphere of the pool and prevents unnecessary conflicts. Equally important is that the city points out special caution at slides, starting blocks, and diving areas. Especially on days with many guests, this type of order is helpful as it keeps the adventure pool, children's pool, sports area, and sports fields cleanly separated from each other. Therefore, the Traunstein outdoor pool does not appear chaotic but structured. Those coming with children can read the clear pathways and the separate offers as an advantage. Those wanting to swim sportily do not have to fear that family operations will dominate the entire pool. And those simply wanting to relax will find enough space on sunbathing lawns and terraces. This balance between rules and freedom makes the pool attractive in the long term. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/media/9692/20230503_sts_schwimmbad_haus_badeordnung_ohne_schnittmarken.pdf))
Why the Traunstein Outdoor Pool is So Popular
The popularity of the Traunstein outdoor pool arises not from a single highlight but from a whole series of well-coordinated factors. The city reports in retrospect on the bathing season 2025 about around 110,000 visits by the end of the season and more than 41,000 visitors alone in June. At the same time, it is mentioned that the old circulation pumps have been in use since the general renovation of the outdoor pool in 1992 and have now been supplemented by new pumps, which also allows for energy savings. These figures and modernization steps show two things: First, the pool is a real crowd puller; second, work is being done on the technical infrastructure to keep operations efficient and up-to-date. For searchers, this is important information, as high visitor numbers usually mean that the pool is a fixed entity in the region and not just a pretty byproduct of the city. When searching for reviews or photos, this confirmation is helpful: A place that is visited so often thrives on its function, recognizability, and visible summer role in Traunstein. For a day trip, this is a good sign, as demand shows that the facility is indeed being used. At the same time, one can derive that on very warm days, high occupancy can be expected, which is why an early visit is often sensible. This conclusion is a logical consequence of visitor numbers and not just speculation. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/stadt-buerger/aktuelles/nachrichten-aus-der-stadt-traunstein/saisonende-schwimmbad/?utm_source=openai))
Additionally, the regional integration into the Chiemgau pool world and the partnership with EGYM Wellpass make the outdoor pool attractive not only for individual visitors but also for people who want to swim regularly or combine several pools in summer. Those traveling in the vicinity of Traunstein can use the combo season ticket and switch between different locations. This strengthens the overall value of the facility and explains why there is so much search for season tickets, pre-sales, and opening hours. The city also emphasizes that tickets are available at the pool cash desk and that season tickets can be reused when purchasing a new ticket. Such organizational details are almost as important for regular guests as the pools themselves, as they simplify the recurring visit. In everyday life, this means: Once someone has experienced a good summer at the Traunstein outdoor pool, they can easily get back in the next year with little effort. This is how attachment is created. It fits that the official page works with image material, thus also serving the search intent for photos without having to resort to unofficial sources. The pool presents itself as a well-documented, family-friendly, and technically maintained place that remains visible in the region. ([traunstein.de](https://www.traunstein.de/schwimmbad))
The question about the water temperature can also be answered seriously: The city speaks of pleasant water temperatures but does not specify a fixed daily degree. This is even more helpful for many search queries than an arbitrarily fluctuating number, as it better describes the character of the pool than a single measurement value. Together with the heated sanitary and changing rooms, this creates the image of an outdoor pool designed for comfort without losing the charm of a summer pool. Those looking for the best day to visit should therefore pay less attention to the exact temperature and more to the overall package: opening hours, occupancy, family offers, shaded and sunny areas, kiosk, sports options, and barrier-free access. Exactly in this mix lies the strength of the Traunstein outdoor pool. It is neither a pure sports pool nor a pure family playground but a municipal summer facility with multiple usage profiles. Therefore, it works for different visitor groups at the same time: for early lane swimmers, for families with small children, for teenagers on the volleyball court, for seniors with discounted admission, and for guests who simply want to enjoy a long day at the pool with a sunbed and kiosk. Those who take all this into account understand why the Traunstein outdoor pool keeps appearing in search queries around opening hours, prices, season tickets, kiosk, photos, and reviews.
Far too many people allowed inside on hot days. There should be a maximum limit set. I personally pulled up a child who couldn't come back up. The on-looker ignored her and thought she was playing. She wasn't. Shoulder to shoulder kids and parents in the pool. Another friend of mine pulled a child up, also on the path to drowning. That child landed in the hospital. Very very crowded on those days. No way the 1 lifeguard can possibly have an eye on all the children and chaos. After my child was pushed down under the water, we stopped going. When it's not high summer, it's a great pool to go to. Just do NOT go if the weather is warm.

A beautiful, large swimming pool. The pools are heated, so you can swim even in the rain without freezing (I swim almost every day). The 50-meter pool is divided into several lanes, including a lap lane. Unfortunately, not every visitor understands the purpose of this division and the signs posted there. There are well-equipped restrooms, large sunbathing lawns, a beach volleyball court, and a small playground. A major drawback: there's no diving board. You can only jump into the water from two starting blocks. This is a reason for older children and teenagers not to go to the Traunstein swimming pool, as it gets boring. Even the new slide, as well as the mushroom fountain and whirlpool in the children's pool, can't change that. The lifeguards are very friendly and helpful. But of course, you still have to keep an eye on your children yourself.

Nice pool. Plenty of space for everything (volleyball, football, basketball). Large playground. Pool area well separated. Nice slide. Unfortunately, many visitors don't follow the rules and don't seem to understand warnings from the staff.

Modernized facility with a large changing area including showers, toilets, and facilities for people with disabilities. 👍👍👍👍👍 Large sunbathing lawn with shady trees. 🌳 🌳 🌳 🌳 🌳 Swimming pool, toddler area, whirlpool, slide. 👍👍👍👍👍 Kiosk, games like chess and Connect Four, no boredom even outside the water. 🥅🎳⚽️🏸🏓 Affordable entrance fee. Large parking lot in front of the entrance. 👍👍👍👍👍 Verdict: A great and well-maintained outdoor pool for the whole family. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

The water temperatures are fantastic – especially the heated baby pool, which feels like a hot tub. The kids and I love it :) Unfortunately, the playground is a bit small and not suitable for little ones. The restrooms and kiosk are showing their age… otherwise, it's a great outdoor pool. We love going there :)
