Experience one of the most impressive Bavarian customs right at the town square in Traunstein. On Easter Monday, the Georgiritt attracts hundreds of visitors and offers an impressive horse pilgrimage. From the town square, the procession leads the magnificent horses and their riders up to the Ettendorfer Kircherl. A very special event that celebrates the traditions of the region.
Historical Sword Dance
Additionally, the historical Sword Dance entices both young and old with fascinating performances. This dance is performed twice at the town square: at 09:30 AM and again at 02:00 PM. The dancers, dressed festively, present choreographed sword figures with skill and precision, delighting visitors from near and far.
The event starts at 09:30 AM with the first Sword Dance and continues at 10:00 AM with the start of the Georgiritt. Take the opportunity to experience Bavarian culture up close and enjoy a day full of tradition and festive atmosphere.
